"Outside is the side I take."
**Border Walls**
One of the most photographed places in the park is Santa Elena Canyon. With the "There are 30 pictures of the park that everybody takes" comment by a friend, that is always stuck in my crawl, I set out to photograph the canyon. I went to Desert Sports and got on the river with Bobski, Crystal Allbright, and John Spong. The first day was a scouting trip to see how the river and my boatman was. I only took a point and shoot. It was all fine, so next day we packed in the cameras. I pretty much laid in the boat and shot up as we went through the canyon. This is a beautiful series with a nice tonal scale. America is one side and Mexico the other. It also proves that sometimes one must work on their back. There are about 45 images to complete the set, and I do have one complete set of 15 x 15 square in silver gelatin.
I hate to keep doing this, but our friend Ken Barnes died. He was a great guy. A self taught paleontologist who lived in Terlingua. He is of the "old" Terlingua. There was a sweet gathering last Sunday, telling stories and accolades. We are all going to miss him very much.
If there is an image or something you would like me to talk about, with the exception of real estate, please send me an email and I will answer it in future posts.
Marci Roberts, Kevin Urbanczyk, and I are working steadily on a new book. Will keep you posted. It's going to be a beauty.
Thank you all for the love and support you have given me over the years. Your purchases truly makes my dreams possible. Happy Full Moon. Get Outside.
