**A Sweet Snow**
Anybody that knows me well knows that I do not have much affinity for snow. However a few weeks ago we had a sweet snowfall and Marci and I headed toward the park to make images. I made a couple of nice panoramics and I will post them on my website soon. Hopefully we will get a flowery Spring.
**I've Been Cooking A Lot More**
I can hardly wait for this Coronavirus to be under control, with everyone vaccinated and not having to be so cautious and worried. However a side effect from it all is I have cooking much more, and even surprising myself when it's tasty. Meanwhile, Marci is appreciating having a personal chef. She has been making curtains. Yes curtains, who knew she had a domestic side. In spite of the virus, not being able to hug people, and kinda stuck at home, life is still good. We've lost some friends to this virus, but no family members so far. I hope you are all safe, and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. And always, thank you for your support.
**Remembering My Mom**
I've had this image on my desktop for a few months thinking to get around and make a print. In my opinion, half of the art of photography is making a fine art print. To quote the master:
“The negative is comparable to the composer’s score and the print to its performance. Each performance differs in subtle ways.” – Ansel Adams
This is an image of my mom and me hugging. Taken around 1975. ( Never mind the Peter Frampton perm. ) As I have mentioned previously, my mom had a wicked sense of humor, and I could egg her on to clown in front of the camera. This evening she came over with a bowling trophy she had won. It was tiny and insultingly pathetic really. I made images of her goofing with it, making faces, and looking at it as if to question why she hadn't thrown it in the trash already. At the end of it I said let's make a picture hugging. Cameras in those days had a manual timers. I slid it all the way and we hugged at least 30 seconds waiting for the exposure. I also thought it would give us time to make it real. I can still feel it.
If your Mom is still in your life, you are very lucky. There is nothing like unconditional love. Do me a favor, give her a big hug for me.
Happy Full Moon. Get Outside.
